As we lived and travelled in a caravan, we considered it really important to be as independent and self-reliant as possible. We were set up to Free Camp as much as possible around the country, which helped to stretch the budget a lot further!

- 60 amp Enerdrive Multi-bank 3 stage Charger (for when plugged into 240 volt only)

- BM-1 Battery Management System with digital gauge
- Coast to Coast Water Tank Monitor
- External Anderson Plug to plug in extra panels if necessary
- Anderson Plug from batteries to car for charging when driving

Internal Modifications

- Turned empty cabinet cavities into cupboards
- Extra under-bed storage for kids
- Lowered top bunk as it was too close to the ceiling
- Added TV’s throughout
- Added 12-volt Fans throughout
- Added 12-volt sockets & USB outlets throughout
- Powerboard that runs off inverter, mounted under dinette for easy use
- Removed bathroom bi-fold door (it was too bulky) & replaced with mould-resistant curtain
- Added magnets to shower door to stop is sliding open when camped on an angle
- Added shelving to closets
- Added Fire Blanket & Carbon Monoxide Detector
- Sealed around all blind frames/ windows
- Anti-slip matting in all cupboards & drawers
- Rubber-backed marine carpet on the back walls of the front closets (to stop moisture build-up on clothing)
- Removed Entry Door curtain and replaced with Roller Blind
- Added removable marine carpet mats to Entry Step and Pull-out step (easier to clean)
- Added permanent Magnetic Whiteboard in the kitchen for bills & notes

External Modifications

- Permanently mounted swing-away BBQ ARM for the Weber
- Aluminium Stone Guard for outdoor tap
- Insulated all wiring, piping & hoses underneath van
- Ran all pipes to a single waste water outlet with Camlock fitting for the grey water hose
- Fully gap-sealed & Sikaflexed van inside and out (for dust-proofing – it’s worked a treat!)
- Upgraded to a larger, stronger tyre (BFG Mud Terrain KM2, 31 x 10.5 x 15) x 5
- Added a Double Bike Rack (for kids bikes) onto the spare wheel
- External Outdoor Drop-down Table
- Jerry Can Holder on the rear bumper
- DO35 Hitchmaster Hitch with lock & upgraded handbrake
- Permanently fitted (welded) swing-away fitting with custom Jockey Wheel/ Jack Stand for extended height
- Permanent washing line fitted under the awning
