31 Brands of Caravans Made in China & Overseas

Adria began its days in 1965 in Slovenia and still has factories operating there in the town of Novo Mesto.

Austrack campers and hybrids are imported from overseas, which are then finished and distributed in Australia.

The factories and warehouses for Black Series Campers are spread across Australia, China and the United States. In 2014 a revolutionary RV industrial park base was built in China (Weihai).

Blue Tongue Camper hybrids are imported from overseas, then assembled and supported in Australia.

Bluewater import the basic camper from China, which includes the chassis, trailing arms and main tub. Once in Australia they add local components such as brakes, hubs, wheel bearing, springs and shocks, canvas, jockey wheel and tow hitch.

Century Trailer caravans are built between both China and Australia.

Eagle campers and caravans are built in China, but assembled and fitted out here in Australia.

Eco-Tourers were originally built in their small Melbourne factory, but with increasing demand that couldn’t be met, the company had to look outward. They found a manufacturer in China with a good reputation who could meet the production requirements while still using mainly Australian sourced parts.

All Eco-Tourer vans are assembled in Southern China with some additional accessories being added in the Melbourne factory.

Euro Caravans have been a global manufacturer for over 50 years. Their caravans are imported from Europe using the highest quality materials, fixtures and appliances. The Australian arm is run by an Aussie family who’ve been selling trailers and parts since 2006.

EzyTrail Campers are proud resellers of imported Chinese caravans and campers. Having grown to be one of the top 3 camper trailer importers in Australia, they endeavour to honour (and wear the cost of) warranty claims and that are otherwise hard to squeeze out of Chinese suppliers.

Fantasy Caravan is a Victoria-based Chinese RV brand. The vans are shipped to Australia 90% complete using a mix of Chinese RV components and Australian parts. The final gas and electrical work are completed in Australia to make sure they meet local compliancy standards.

Goldstar RVs are made in China, then sold factory direct to the public, which cuts out the middle people in order to keep prices lower.

Harvok electric caravans were established in China in 2018 as the centre of manufacturing, research and development. The eco factory manufactures caravans and motorhomes on 130,000m² of land, which is run by Australians. You can find the head office and customer care in Victoria.

Jawa Campers are open about the fact that their campers and caravans are imported from China where they have their own engineer and factory. Once the campers arrive into Australia, the next 7-10 days are spent finishing them off with the following:

• Gas Inline Certified Plumbing to Australian standards
• 240v Electrical to Australian standards
• Suspension upgrades (incl. shocks & springs)
• Reseal all vans from water & dust ingress

At the time of writing, all Lifestyle Camper hybrids are completely made in Australia, except for their Iconn range, which is imported from overseas.

Originally, The Little Caravan Company started out building caravans out of Melbourne in 2015. Due to lockdowns and worldwide events, they started sourcing their caravans from China around 2020/ 2021. They feel that they are still delivering the same quality unique caravans as before.

Little Gem Caravans are made in Italy by a manufacturer called Wingamm, who’ve been in the business since 1977. Given that importing caravans into Australia is quite a huge process, they only have two caravans from their range available here at this stage.

Lumberjack camper trailers, pods and hybrids are all built in China, then shipped into their Australian factory. There, the plumbing and wiring is certified to Australian standards, the drawbar is welded and bolted into place and upgraded shocks and tyres are fitted.

As of early 2019, Market Direct Campers relocated the manufacturing to their facilities in China. It had been part of a 12-month plan in order to keep offering lightweight, full composite construction models at an affordable price. The vans are shipped to Australia 90% complete where the final fit-out with European appliances and accessories takes place.

Mars Campers are another brand who have their campers made in China, with the final fitting, assembly, marketing and sales happening in Australia. They have their own Chinese manufacturing plant, which a huge amount of research and design has been invested into.

Maverick Campers are all made overseas and then assembled in their South Australian factory to meet Australian standards.

Modcon RV sold both Australian made and Chinese imported campers alongside each other for a number of years. Due to overwhelming popularity of the imported version, as well as rising production costs in Australia, they made the move to solely manufacture in China. While the main build is done overseas, the final fit-out of brakes, suspension, electrics, gas and water are all done with in Australia.

NewGen offer a range of caravans that are built in the same Chinese factory as Snowy River caravans. The completed full composite bodies and chassis arrive in Melbourne where the final stages take place in the same factory as Snowy River and Regent caravans. There they are fitted out with appliances, suspension and are certified to meet Australian standards.

Opus Campers are manufactured in China, then shipped to Australia and head down an assembly line to meet Australian standards.

Platinum Campers use a hybrid build process, which begins in their Chinese manufacturing facility. This is where all of the bodies, drawbars and tent tops are created. The final electrical and gas fit-out happens in their Brisbane workshop in Queensland.

Roma Caravans have been an iconic Australian brand since 1928. However, in order to continue moving with the times, in 2018 they began building two of their models in China – the Avoka 22ft family van and the Razorback off-roader. For now, the other models are still fully Australian made.

Snowy River Caravans is owned by the same Chinese company that bought Regent Caravans in 2015. Using the knowledge and experience of Regent, the company set about to expand their portfolio by offering a Chinese built range, keeping them firmly in place within a competitive market.

Star Vision import flat-packed campers from China, which are then assembled here in their Australian factory.

Stoney Creek Campers are made in China and shipped to Australia for the final assembly, which includes the gas and electrical components.

Swag Off-road Campers are fully Australia owned, but their campers are actually manufactured in China using many Australian-supplied products.

Swift RVs are traditionally a UK creation, however they are expanding their Australian market with a tough off-road hybrid. The composite caravans are being made in China for a while to first test the market. There are plans to eventually move the production to Australia if all goes well.

The Titan Caravan composite panelled bodies come in from China already sitting on hot-dipped galvanised chassis. Lightweight Italian plywood is used to build the furniture.
