About 30km north-west of Longreach, heading towards Winton, is the Darr River, which has a great Free Camping area.
We scored a great spot right on the river with our own private little jetty down the bottom, so it seemed the perfect spot to chill out for a few days and catch up on things.
The kids had trees to climb in and plenty of space to ride their bikes, plus we got to do a spot of fishing (unfortunately, nothing was caught). Outback Queensland really know how to put on a Free Camp!
