Wallbumbilla is a tiny little town 41km east of Roma and about five hours west of Brisbane in Queensland. At last count the town only had 191 people living in it.
Of course, no country town is complete without an original pub standing on a corner somewhere near the main street. Wallumbilla is no different with the Federal Hotel, which offers free camping out the back of the pub for travellers.
You’re not expected to spend money at the pub, but it’s certainly encouraged. We took the opportunity to enjoy a hot pub meal at the end of a busy day on the road. The prices were standard and the meals were really delicious.

Iron Jack Ad Location
Since leaving the Pub, we’ve found out that the Federal Hotel in Wallumbilla is the location of the Iron Jack beer advertisement! Apparently locals were cast for the positions in the small screen ad.
