Nestled in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland you will find an array of different camping sites amongst the rolling green mountains. We stayed at Kenilworth Camping on the River, which is on Paulger Road in Kenilworth. The camp ground is located on a private Dairy Farm alongside the Mary River, Queensland.

Activities include swimming, kayaking, walking or bike riding and good old relaxing. You may even be lucky enough to spot a shy Platypus swimming in the water! Coming soon are some weekend Dairy Farm Tours showing guests just what it’s like to produce milk.

The Kenilworth Camping grounds consist of large grassy areas running along the creek. There are no allocated sites, you just drive around and pick where you want to set up camp. A few portaloos are spotted around for convenience, which are cleaned daily and emptied regularly.

Earwigs Everywhere!

We noticed that there were loads of Earwigs around that decided to hitch a ride. They were hiding in the awning (which we noticed as we were rolling it up) and in some very strange places inside the van as well (like inside the metal straws)! We were still finding the odd sucker a few weeks later!
