Lightning Ridge Holiday Park offers a great camping spot right in town. Beau and Belinda are lovely Managers who are more than happy to make sure your stay is comfortable. IGA was just over the road, with the two main streets within easy walking distance.
Right next door is the Water Park and heated Diving Pool (only open during the warmer months). Also within walking distance are a range of eateries, galleries and jewellery stores.

PIN IT for later!

We have just been to Lightning Ridge!!! Oh it was so much more than expected. We loved the car door tours.
We loved it too. The Car Door Tours are brilliant – so unique.
Hi we arrived holiday park stayed two night not very happy no good for kids to play there no pool no fun got nothing and we got stuck two more nights my car broken down piss me off and pay extra nights we should go opal park right now no helpful still we are here depressed from hell
Ohh bugger, sorry to hear about the car breaking down. We did consider The Opal a well, purely for the pool. But in the end we were busy around town and doing the Car Door Tours, plus met another family in the park for the kids to play with. You win some, you lose some.
It is amazing to know that there are many things to do around Lightning Ridge Holiday Park. Being pet friendly and having a water park sounds like an added advantage. And Fossicking sounds interesting – I didn’t know that was even a thing!
There are quite a few things to do in Lightning Ridge, even though it’s only a small community in the middle of the outback. Lots of fun!
I’m moving to NSW soon and I’d love to check out this camp site! Water Park close by sounds awesome!
Lightning Ridge Holiday Park sounds like tons of fun…I mean who doesnt love a free Pizza Party! I know that the water park is a big bonus for kids but I have to say, the Opal Hunting sounds awesome. I had never heard of the term Fossicking, so I just learned a new vocabulary word today and now I want to go Fossicking for Opals! If by chance you find any, do you get to keep them?
We also learnt all about the term ‘fossicking’ once we travelled around and got to put it into practice finding both opals and sapphires. Yep, you sure do get to keep the ones you find.
My boys would love to mine for opals. We have visited a lot of mine. That’s cool that it’s in a campground.
I’ve never been camping before but it was so nice to learn about this location. It’s such an affordable place and the amenities sound so great! I hope to check this place out in the future.
