If you’re after good Longreach free camping, you’ll find a fantastic one about 24 km North-West of Longreach (heading towards Winton). It goes by the name of Macsland Rest Area camping spot and you’ll find it on the WikiCamps App.
We found it to be a really unique Longreach free camping area, with some nice walks around the creek beds. Although it was dry, it was still very pretty and entertained the kids for hours. There were loads of camping spots in and around the area with trees and shrubs for privacy. Just go for a wander and find a spot that suits you.
