Between the south-western towns of St George and Cunnamulla is a friendly little Outback town with a fantastic Donation Camp. The Wallam Creek Free Camping area is located right in the township of Bollon with all of the amenities you need to make your stay easy.

Wallam Creek Camping, Bollon QLD

The campsite is situated alongside the beautiful Wallam Creek. We enjoyed the abundance of wildlife that flourished around us, such as (very friendly) ducks, kangaroos, emus and loads of birds.
In the way of amenities, we found the main toilet block in the campsite to be very clean and well kept as well as housing a Book Swap. Just a short walk along the walking track into town is another toilet block, plus free hot showers.
Spotted around where plenty of bins, plus picnic benches and wood BBQ’s. You’ll also find a Dump Point an easy walk (or short drive) from the camp ground.

This sounds like a great campsite! Lotsof necessary and clean amenities – everything you need!
Clean, Flushing toilets and free hot showers sound like a comfy stay here. I love that you get to see so much nature here. I mean kangaroos?!?! Yes, please!
The clean toilets and free hot showers are a massive draw card. Yep, kangaroos – we even saw some emus as well!
It is cool that there was so much wildlife close to Wallam Creek Camping. I always wanted to see a kangaroo in the wild! It looks like it has everything for all different kinds of campers. But I have never heard of a campground that was paid for with donations.
Once you get out of the built up areas, it’s quite common to see kangaroos and wallabies around the place. We have lots of Donation Camps in Australia, it’s a great way to support the local councils who provide the facilities.
This looks like the perfect campsite. I would love to see a kangaroo while camping 🙂 Great guide!
I never tire of seeing kangaroos!
This sounds like a great find! I love campsites like this – all the necessaries to make it a great stay, but no silly frills. Some of the best sites we have stayed on are donation sites and people genuinely look after them.
Most definitely. Wallam Creek has the basics to make your stay a bit more comfortable without going overboard (which would just create more expense for everyone). I agree, most people do the right thing and look after the spaces, but unfortunately there are always the exceptions.
